Store discounts for older shoppers can be a boon for your budget — and some surprising retailers offer them.

Several large retailers, like Kohl’s and Ross Dress for Less, offer discounts to older customers on specific days of the week or month. Other stores offer savings through their loyalty membership programs. Even your local pharmacy might offer a senior discount.

As consumer prices rise with inflation and tariffs, you don’t want to miss out on these opportunities to cut costs. Here are eight retailers that offer discounts for older shoppers.

1. Goodwill

Locations: Over 3,300 stores across North America

One day a week, typically on Tuesday or Wednesday, Goodwill shoppers 55 or older may be eligible for 10 to 30 percent in-store discounts, depending on the location. Not every store participates.

2. Kohl’s

Locations: Over 1,100 stores in every state but Hawaii

On Wednesdays, shoppers 60 or older can snag a 15 percent discount on in-store purchases. Percentage-off coupons can’t be combined with the offer.

3. Michaels

Locations: 1,300 stores in 49 states

Michaels Rewards members 55 or older always get 10 percent off their purchases, including sale items, in stores and online. If you don’t have a Michaels Rewards account, you can still receive a 10 percent discount on in-store purchases by showing proof of age at checkout.

4. PetSmart

Locations: More than 1,660 stores in North America

Customers 65 or older get 10 percent off at PetSmart’s grooming salon every Tuesday. The deal isn’t offered at all locations, so check with your local store.

5. Ross Dress for Less

Locations: Over 1,800 stores in 44 states, the District of Columbia and Guam

Shoppers 55 or older get 10 percent off in-store purchases every Tuesday. You must notify the store associate at checkout, and an ID may be required.

6. Savers

Locations: More than 150 stores in 29 states

Every Tuesday, customers 55 or older get 30 percent off purchases at this thrift store chain. The deal excludes new merchandise. Other restrictions may apply, so check with your local Savers store.

7. Walgreens

Locations: Nearly 8,500 stores nationwide

On the first Tuesday of the month, shoppers 55 or older get 20 percent off regular-price items in stores and online through the myWalgreens rewards program. Prescriptions and clinical services are excluded, and you can’t use coupons on top of the discount. Online shoppers must be logged in to their Walgreens.com account and should use the code SENIOR20.

8. Clarks

Locations: Over 150 stores in 35 states and territories

Shoppers 56 or older can take 10 percent off their orders online using a discount code and verification of age at this footwear retailer. The discount applies only to full-price items and is not offered to in-store shoppers.
