AARP Florida's Age-Friendly Network

The AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities helps communities turn good intentions into real, lasting improvements that make everyday life easier for people of all ages—especially older adults. Through education, collaboration, and practical guidance, the Network equips local leaders, elected officials, and engaged residents with the tools they need to rethink how their communities support health, mobility, housing, and social connection. Members learn from one another, share proven strategies, and focus on solutions that reflect local needs and priorities. The goal is simple but powerful: create places where people can thrive at every stage of life, from young families to older neighbors who want to age in place with dignity and independence.

Florida is already leading the way, with 45 AARP Age-Friendly Members—and growing—demonstrating what’s possible when communities commit to thoughtful, inclusive planning. These cities and counties are taking meaningful steps to improve transportation options, strengthen community services, and foster environments that support healthy aging. Joining the Network signals a commitment to listening to residents and planning for the future, not just today. Your community could be next to help shape a Florida where people of all ages feel supported, connected, and empowered to live well.Age-Friendly Community Resources.
