I was widowed from my first husband and divorced from my second. Can I claim benefits on either one's record?

En español | Once divorced, you will be able to collect benefits from either your first or second husband. You must generally have been married at least nine months for a marriage that ended in death.  You must have been married at least 10 years if the marriage ended in divorce. Social Security will give you a benefit based on whichever spouse's earnings provides the highest payment.
