AARP is proud to be changing the language of the sport and what it means to be 50 and older. Our core message is supporting the health and happiness of players age 50 and older, whether they’re picking up a paddle for the first time or playing at the pro level, and encouraging others to try it.
“Pickleball is truly a sport for life—it keeps people active, competitive, and connected,” said Barbara Shipley, Senior Vice President, Brand Integration at AARP. “We’re proud to celebrate the inspiring athletes competing in the AARP Champions and AARP Masters Divisions across the APP Tour. It’s especially meaningful to bring the AARP Open to Seattle, in the state where pickleball began—welcoming players of all ages into the game.”
