Our volunteers are skilled, dedicated and passionate about giving back to their communities and helping the 50-plus population live their best lives. When you join our inclusive family of volunteers, we’ll provide all of the training and support you need to make a difference, make new connections and have fun at the same time.

COMMUNITY AMBASSADORS - Twin Cities

Help host AARP’s signature events such as Movies for Grownups, educational Lunch & Learns, Tap Talks, Walk with a Doc and more. Mingle with guests and create a great and welcoming experience for all, while raising awareness of AARP’s issues and strategic priorities.

COMMUNITY AMBASSADORS - Rochester

Provide event support and raise awareness of AARP’s issues and strategic priorities in local communities by representing AARP at fun member and community events.

COMMUNITY POP-UP TEAM - Twin Cities

Be out and about at fairs, festivals, educational events, and more! Volunteer at a community event booth and offer a quick, fun learning opportunity about AARP’s social mission issues like fraud, family caregiving, Social Security & Medicare.

DRIVER SAFETY

Become part of AARP’s award-winning Driver Safety program. A variety of volunteer positions are available, including course instructor, volunteer leader, marketing & recruitment specialist, data manager, and tech advisor.

EXPERIENCE CORPS

AARP Experience Corps is an intergenerational volunteer-based tutoring program to help kids become great readers by the end of third grade. Experience Corps is located in over a dozen schools across the Twin Cities.

FRAUD FIGHTERS

Every year, thousands of Americans are impacted by fraud and scams – but you can beat con artists at their own game and help to protect others by volunteering with the AARP Fraud Watch Network.

GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY TEAM

Educate community members and decision-makers about important issues that affect us all as we age.

INFORMATION CENTER TEAM

Provide resources, referrals, and information to people both in person and over the phone at the AARP Information Center, located in the Mall of America.

SPEAKERS TEAM

Raise awareness of AARP and provide valuable information and resources to the 50+. Volunteers conduct presentations, provide technical support, and assist AARP with community outreach.

TAX-AIDE

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax-filing help to those who need it most. Tax-aide sites are coordinated throughout Minnesota and there are a variety of volunteer roles available.

Meet the AARP Minnesota Executive Council

The AARP Minnesota Executive Council is a team of volunteer leaders with a variety of skill sets, experiences, and backgrounds. The Executive Council helps shape the strategic direction and execute the mission of AARP Minnesota – ensuring that AARP remains a relevant resource and influential voice for people 50+ in our state and across our communities.
