This infographic summarizes new research findings from AARP, the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative, and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), shedding light on the connection between air pollution and dementia. This is the largest-ever study synthesizing evidence on this topic, and findings reveal that tiny air pollution particles can damage brain tissue and significantly increase the risk of developing dementia. Alarmingly, most Americans are exposed to pollution levels high enough to raise their chances of this deadly disease.
