My ex-spouse has not filed for Social Security benefits yet. Can I still claim benefits on their record?

En español | Maybe. Your ex-spouse does not have to claim in order for you to collect benefits on their record. However, an individual generally has to be at least 62 years old for an ex-spouse to collect a spousal benefit.
