Shoppers with wanderlust, start your engines. Black Friday travel deals are here, making it a good time to press Purchase for discounts on hotel getaways in a domestic city or that trip-of-a-lifetime cruise you’ve been dreaming about.
Some 70 percent of adults 50-plus planned to travel this year, according to AARP’s 2025 Travel Trends survey. If you hope to be among those ranks in 2026, this year’s Black Friday sales offer discounted inspiration to get up and go.
The options and offers come pouring in from every corner of the internet in the lead-up to Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving that’s become known for its retail frenzy), with most offers expiring around Dec. 2 (a.k.a. Travel Tuesday). And while the chance to act on any deal you can’t resist is now, it’s good to go into things armed with knowledge as you browse the seemingly endless travel-related offerings.
“Know what you’re looking for before the big day, and go straight to the Black Friday Deals section [of a website],” says Melanie Fish, travel expert with Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. “Whether it’s a beach retreat, a city escape or a mountain adventure, having a clear idea of your travel goals will help you filter through the plethora of deals more efficiently.”
Take Black Friday offers with a grain of salt, advises Katy Nastro from Going.com. “There are some deals to be had, but it’s not necessarily the best of the best,” she warns, adding that it’s smart to go into it with a trip destination in mind and then see what offers fit. “If you have a pricier destination you’ve always wanted to go to, this could be a good time to figure out if that destination is offering any savings and you could find a more affordable time to visit,” Nastro says.

Online travel site sales
Expedia and Hotels.com. These Expedia Group booking sites feel like a one-stop shop for Black Friday deals, with hotel savings of up to 50 percent (and flash deals up to 75 percent dropped on select days) on stays in places such as Miami Beach, Park City, Utah and Hawai‘i. Offers must be booked by Dec. 2, 2025 (with travel completed by Dec. 30, 2026).
Booking.com. The digital travel company has Black Friday offers across six travel categories, including accommodations, car rentals, flights, cruises and more bookable through Dec. 3 for travel from now through the end of 2026.
