Wyoming Customers Could See Electric Bills Rise
More than 140,000 Wyoming utility customers could see their electric bills rise if state regulators approve a 14.7 percent rate increase request by Rocky Mountain Power.
Typical residential customers using 700 kilowatt-hours per month would see their bills increase by $17.17 per month. Those using double the amount of power could see their monthly bills jump by $31.34.
The utility company says the increase is needed to cover rising insurance premiums relating to wildfire risks, as well as for capital investments in transmission and wind projects.
The Wyoming Public Service Commission is expected to make a decision in the coming months. Learn more at aarp.org/wy.
