Virgin Islands Aging Commission Makes a Return

The Commission on Aging is back.

The revived government panel — which had not functioned for years — held its first meeting in October. Members have elected AARP Virgin Islands State Director Troy A. de Chabert-Schuster as chair. AARP advocated for the commission’s return.

The commission will advocate for more resources, services and infrastructure to support the islands’ aging population, Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. said in a press release. He has asked its members to develop digital literacy workshops and electronic device giveaways to help older adults, as well as a budget for the commission.
