Voting is one of the most powerful ways to make your voice heard — and it all starts with being registered. Whether you’re voting for the first time, need to update your information, or want to help a friend or family member get registered, AARP Virgin Islands is here to help you stay election‑ready.

As a nonpartisan organization, AARP supports informed voters across the territory — especially the 50+ community, one of the strongest and most reliable voices in our elections.

When Should You Register?

In the U.S. Virgin Islands, voters must be registered at least 30 days before Election Day in order to vote. Don’t wait until the last minute — registering early ensures you’ll have time to confirm your information and avoid any surprises at the polls.

Where to Register

Voter registration is handled by the Elections System of the Virgin Islands (ESVI). You may register:

  • On St. Croix
  • On St. Thomas
  • On St. John

You can find office locations, hours, and contact information on the official ESVI website: https://vivote.gov

How to Register

Eligible residents can register to vote in one of two ways:

✅ Register Online

The Elections System of the Virgin Islands offers a secure online voter registration portal. This option allows you to register or update your voter information from anywhere.

👉 Register online here: https://app.vivote.gov/registration

✅ Register In Person

You may also register in person at your local elections office on St. Croix, St. Thomas, or St. John. In‑person registration must also be completed at least 30 days before Election Day.

What Documents Do You Need?

When registering, you must bring an original (no copies) of one of the following documents:

  • U.S. birth certificate
  • U.S. passport
  • Naturalization certificate
  • Military discharge form (DD‑214)

These requirements help ensure the integrity of our elections and protect every voter’s voice.

Already Registered? Take a Moment to Check

Even if you’re already registered, it’s a good idea to confirm your status — especially if you’ve moved, changed your name, or haven’t voted in recent elections.

✔️ Check your voter registration status here: https://app.vivote.gov/lookup

How You Can Make a Difference Today
