Did you know that making and enjoying music can stimulate your brain, trigger memories and emotions, connect you with other people and enrich your life, according to a report from AARP’s Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH).
Music engages multiple parts of the brain — including those involved in memory, thinking skills, movement, attention, language and emotion — and helps them work together, according to the report, which is based on a review of scientific literature by independent experts.

Opera Vermont and Highland Center for the Arts present a new production of Puccini's beloved La bohème, a timeless tale of love and heartbreak. Composed by Giacomo Puccini and premiered in 1896, it follows a group of struggling artists who chase their dreams while barely scraping by.
Puccini’s lush, emotionally charged music captures both the exuberant joy of young love and the deep sorrow of loss. Both intimate and grand, La Bohème paints a portrait of life’s fleeting beauty and the enduring power of love.
The production features the New England Repertory Orchestra and the work of artist Priscilla Heine.

There's trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. Meredith Willson's six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall. Featuring songs such as "Seventy-Six Trombones," "Trouble," "'Til There Was You," "Pickalittle" and “Gary, Indiana," The Music Man is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.
