The new Statewide Interagency Aging Services Coordinating Council has started work on a five-year plan to meet the needs of a rapidly aging population.
The group—which AARP advocated for—includes appointees from the governor’s office, state agencies and researchers from three public Texas universities. It will look at ways to improve coordination among agencies that serve older Texans.
A recording of the council’s June 5 meeting will stream at texashhsmeetings.org/HHSWebcast.
