Three-Day Fraud Prevention Conference in June Includes Free Drive-Thru Shred Event

The Oklahoma County Sheriff, FBI, Oklahoma Insurance Department, and AARP Oklahoma are hosting the third annual Fraud Prevention Conference series on June 13, 20, and 27.
The event also includes a drive-thru shred event on June 20. Each seminar will cover different fraud prevention topics and feature local and national experts who will share information about emerging scams targeting unsuspecting people, especially the 50-plus population.

June 13, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Protecting Your Identity in a Digital Landscape
June 20, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Combating Elder Exploitation, Abuse and Neglect.
June 20, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.- AARP Oklahoma is hosting a free on-site document shredding event. Please note that documents should not have metal larger than a staple. Please do not bring magazines or cardboard. There is a maximum of four boxes per person. The event is free and open to the public. AARP membership is not required to participate, but you can register below for a chance to win a $100 gift card and request a complimentary fraud prevention kit with resources from the AARP Fraud Watch Network.
June 27, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Recovery and Resources: Moving Forward
The Fraud Prevention Conference offers in-person and virtual participation options. However, registration is required regardless of location.
In-person location: Metro Tech District Center, 1900 Springlake Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73111
Virtual online or watch at remote party locations: registration is required. Simply register for online or remote options, and an email access link and information will be sent to you prior to the conference.
