Women’s History Month is a time to recognize the strength, leadership, and resilience of women across generations—and to invest in a future where women can age with confidence, dignity, and financial security.
In recognition of Women’s History Month, AARP Pennsylvania – Philadelphia partnered with Invest for Better Philadelphia, the first regional hub of the national nonprofit Invest for Better, to support women in building financial confidence and long‑term security.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to helping women strengthen their financial knowledge earlier in life—an essential foundation for retirement readiness, caregiving responsibilities, and the ability to age in place. Just as important, the program focused on building confidence, so women feel empowered to make informed financial decisions at every stage of life.
From February 10 to March 17, 2026, AARP Pennsylvania collaborated with Invest for Better Philadelphia for their first 2026 learning circle. The program brought together 26 women representing a wide range of ages, life stages, and personal experiences.
Through guided discussions and peer‑based learning, participants explored investing alongside real‑life financial concerns—such as saving, opening and managing bank accounts, planning for retirement, and preparing to live independently with a safe and healthy financial future.
A defining feature of the program was its intergenerational exchange. Women learned not only from expert‑guided conversations, but also from one another, sharing perspectives shaped by different chapters of life. This supportive, community‑centered environment created space for honest conversations about money.
One participant captured the impact of that shared learning:
“The most profound value has been the peer sharing among women that spans generations. I feel empowered and excited to build a non‑traditional investment portfolio that works not just for me, but also for my community.”
— Kaela Blanks, 34
Together, AARP Pennsylvania and Invest for Better Philadelphia are helping women take meaningful steps toward financial wellness—supporting not just individual goals, but stronger families and communities as women age.
By creating spaces where women can learn, ask questions, and support one another, partnerships like this help ensure that women have the tools they need to build financial security and independence.
