Some Oklahoma Utility Customers Could See $19 Monthly Increase

The average OG&E residential customer could see their monthly bills increase by $19.02, or nearly 14 percent, if regulators approve a rate change request.

The utility says the increase, which would total $332.5 million, is needed in part to support infrastructure improvements. The rate change would take effect by mid-July if approved by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. The utility is also seeking to raise customers’ fixed monthly charge from $13 to $21 a month.

AARP opposes the request. For more, go to action.aarp.org/NoOGEHike or call 866-861-4730. Also learn how to submit comments to the commission directly on its website.
