AARP Ohio is forming Regional Advisory Boards to bring regional insight into conversations shaping work across advocacy, the longevity economy, caregiving, fraud prevention and community engagement across the state. We are seeking influential regional voices — both established and rising — interested in deeper civic engagement and meaningful impact.

Why Regional Advisory Boards?

AARP Ohio is committed to deepening local engagement, strengthening relationships and ensuring our statewide work reflects the unique priorities of communities across the state. These boards will:

  • Bring deep regional insight into statewide strategy
  • Strengthen community partnerships
  • Expand AARP Ohio’s presence in local engagement
  • Connect cross-sector leaders to shared opportunities
  • Ensure our work reflects the realities and emerging needs within each region

This is not a traditional volunteer role. It is a collaborative advisory opportunity — a chance to help shape how AARP Ohio shows up and works alongside communities across the state.

Perspectives We Value

We are seeking leaders who demonstrate:

  • Strong community networks and influence
  • Cross-sector collaboration
  • Strategic and long-term perspective
  • A partnership mindset
  • Interest in strengthening communities statewide
  • Intergenerational leadership

Ideal candidates may come from sectors including:

  • Local government & planning
  • Economic & community development
  • Health & public health
  • Housing, transportation & infrastructure
  • Higher education & workforce innovation
  • Business, nonprofit & civic leadership
  • Philanthropy & community organizations

Age‑friendly communities are built through intergenerational leadership, and we intentionally welcome emerging leaders alongside experienced community voices.

We are moving quickly while ensuring strong regional representation and alignment with AARP Ohio’s priorities. If you know someone who should be at the table — or if that someone is you — we’d love to hear from you.
