Get moving this Irish-American Heritage Month with a free, three-part virtual Irish step dancing series designed for beginners. These lively classes combine choreography and aerobic movement while helping improve balance, stability, and coordination—all from the comfort of home.

Together, we’ll learn the fundamentals of Irish step dancing, including basic jig and reel steps, across three easy-to-follow sessions. Whether you’re brand new to dance or simply looking for a fun way to stay active, this series is a great way to move your body and challenge your mind.

Classes are taught by Diana Minnix, who began training at the Northern Virginia school Aiobhneas En Rince at age 11. She competed throughout her youth, paused while attending college, and returned to Irish dance in 2021 at the New York Studio of Irish Step Dance. Her teaching style is welcoming, encouraging, and well-suited for beginners.

Irish step dancing offers more than just cultural connection—it’s also a full-body activity that supports physical and mental well-being. Learning new steps helps strengthen coordination and balance, while the rhythm and movement keep both body and brain engaged.
