AARP NY State Director Beth Finkel issued the following statement regarding the Senate advancement of bills focused on prescription drug affordability.
“When drug prices soar, the consequences spread and New Yorkers pay for them. AARP New York applauds the New York State Senate for advancing legislation to lower prescription drug costs by allowing the importation of cheaper medications, cracking down on pay-to-delay deals that keep affordable drugs off the market, and maximizing the use of generics.
High prescription drug prices are deeply personal for seniors and their families and impact their day-to-day life.
Older New Yorkers deserve meaningful, lasting relief so they can afford the medications that keep them healthy and independent.”
