Fraud Prevention Month Comes to Missouri
Fraud continues to threaten families across the country – and here in Missouri, the impact is real.
According to the Federal Trade Commission, consumers in Missouri reported $53.1 million stolen by fraud in 2025 with the common scams involving imposter scams.
In response, AARP is taking action this April during Fraud Prevention Month, bringing free in-person and virtual events, workshops, and fraud-prevention resources directly to communities across Missouri.

Free In-Person Events in Kansas City, Missouri
Join us for a free screening (registration required) of The Intern. The film follows a 70-year-old retiree stepping back into today’s fast-paced, digital workplace and building meaningful connections along the way.
It’s a reminder of how quickly things change, and how scams often show up through emails, impersonation, and online communication.
