From Grants to Growth: Investing in Michigan Communities

AARP's vision is a society in which all people live with dignity and purpose, and fulfill their goals and dreams. AARP Michigan is leading that charge in Michigan, investing in initiatives that make communities safer, more inclusive and better equipped to help people age in place with dignity and independence.

Investing in community is essential to AARP's mission because it strengthens the social, economic and environmental fabric that supports everyone, especially vulnerable older adults. So, how does AARP Michigan support community growth?

AARP Investment in Communities

The AARP Community Challenge Grant focuses on making communities more livable for people of all ages, with projects ranging from pedestrian safety upgrades to digital inclusion efforts. Since 2017, AARP Michigan has awarded 34 grants and more than $485,000 through the program to nonprofit organizations and government entities across the state.

Hearing stories directly from the community organizations executing these grant projects brings visibility, inspiration and momentum to their important work.
