Positive Strategies for Caring for a Loved One with Dementia

Caregiving can be challenging, especially for family caregivers of those living with dementia.

Results of a 2018 AARP survey find that caregivers of loved ones with dementia put in longer hours and find themselves having to make more adjustments in their lives than caregivers of people with other health conditions.

In that same report, two-thirds of all caregivers report feeling closer to their loved one while caregivers of those with dementia say their relationship with their loved one has grown further apart.

Have you ever wondered if there is a more positive approach you can take in your journey caring for a loved one with dementia?

AARP Michigan is hosting a special free, virtual event where you can gain insights and ask questions of Dr. Michael Shafer, Director of Neuropsychology for the Sparrow Medical Group, who is an expert in brain health and dementia care.
