TELEPHONE TOWN HALLS:

Every so often, we host telephone townhalls in the format of the telethons and radio shows of a not so distant past and often have a guest professional or a panel of them there to field phone calls and questions from Massachusetts residents like you. All of these are moderated by our State Director, Mike Festa.

  • The Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation AARP Massachusetts hosted a live Tele-Town Hall in April to alert members to scams going on in our neighborhoods. We were grateful to host Robin Putnam, Events & Outreach Manager for The Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Hear people like you call into the telethon like broadcast and get their questions answered. Tune in and gain some insight as to the nature Fraud and those have experienced it.

Fraud Talk Tuesdays: On the second Tuesday of every month, we host 30 minute fraud information sessions focusing on a different types of scams and fraud. We discuss best practices of protection, avoidance, and what you can do when it's too late.

Livable Wednesdays: Join us for our Livable Wednesday series on the last Wednesday of each month. Learn the various ways volunteers, organizations, and municipalities across Massachusetts are paying increased attention to the environmental, economic and social factors that influence the health and well-being of people as they age.

Financial Resiliency: AARP Massachusetts knows how important finances are to everyday life. That is why we are launched our Thrifty Thursday Financial Resilience Series. This was built to assist you in better understanding and managing your finances. Webinar topics include social security, budgeting, avoiding scams, & planning for retirement and caregiving costs.       • WBUR recently interviewed the AARP Massachusetts State President, Sandra Harris. The interview was conducted specifically to discuss Sandra's role as both our State President and as co-chair of the Massachusetts Task Force to End Loneliness and Build Community. With coverage from the Boston Globe and the New York Times, this task force has been working in collaboration with AARP Massachusetts and other organizations, municipalities, & more to combat social isolation in the Bay State.
