Congressional Telephone Town Halls: How Congress and Local Communities Are Taking on Fraud
Fraud and scams continue to threaten the financial security of families across the country, especially older adults. From impostor scams and identity theft to cryptocurrency and payment fraud, criminals are constantly changing their tactics. AARP Indiana’s upcoming telephone town halls can connect Hoosiers with experts, advocates, and public officials.
Telephone Town Hall with Congresswoman Erin Houchin

Congresswoman Erin Houchin joins AARP Indiana’s telephone town hall to speak with 9th District residents about ongoing congressional work to fight fraud and strengthen financial security for Hoosiers age 50 and older. As a member of the new bipartisan Congressional Stop Scams Caucus, she highlights emerging national efforts to curb scams and better protect consumers.
AARP Government Affairs Director, Clark Flynt-Barr, will also join the call to discuss AARP’s fraud policy priorities, endorsed legislation, and available resources.
Telephone Town Hall with Representative Jefferson Shreve

Join AARP Indiana, for a telephone town hall with 6th District residents and Representative Jefferson Shreve as he discusses his work to prevent fraud and protect older Americans from scams. Rep. Shreve will highlight legislation he has authored, several of which have been endorsed by AARP, that aim to stop fraud and strengthen consumer protections.
AARP Government Affairs Director, Chad Mullen, will also join the call to share how AARP is working with elected officials on Capitol Hill to advance protections for older adults and combat scammers nationwide.
