Idaho has a new law, backed by AARP, that helps protect you from scams involving virtual currency kiosks.
These machines, often called crypto kiosks or bitcoin ATMs, are found in grocery stores and gas stations and have become a favorite tool for scammers to quickly steal large amounts of money, with little chance of recovery.
The Virtual Currency Kiosk Fraud Prevention Act, passed by state legislators in 2026, creates important safeguards to stop scammers and protect Idahoans’ life savings.
