Grant Program Seeks to Boost Livability in Connecticut

AARP Connecticut will be awarding grants this year to help cities, towns and nonprofits make their communities more livable.

AARP Connecticut will be awarding grants this year to help cities, towns and nonprofits make their communities more livable.

It’s a state-level initiative that expands on the national AARP Community Challenge grant program; both fund quick-turnaround projects that aim to improve pedestrian safety, beautify public spaces and expand affordable housing, among other goals.

In Connecticut, the 2023 funded projects included a free outdoor library, a food pantry, an oral history project and social events for veterans.

Learn more at aarp.org/ct. Apply by emailing your application to CTLivable@aarp.org by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.
