AARP works directly with communities and is engaging, supporting and assisting with local livability pursuits nationwide.

Several of the community solutions featured in this collection result in whole or in part from AARP Community Challenge grant funding.

A select few of the communities received direct advisory services from livability practitioners — such as architects, transportation planners and economic development specialists — through the AARP Livable Communities Technical Assistance Program. (Commonly referred to as LC-TAP, some of the articles on this page and in the Lessons From Livability Leaders Collection reflect that work.)

In others places, local community organizations and leaders worked in partnership with AARP state office staff and volunteers.

Learn from some of these AARP-involved communities and projects via the links below. More to come!
