Game Basics

Game Rounds

Right Again! Trivia features four rounds of four questions each. Each round is more difficult than the last and award more game points.

Brain Q and Final Q

You’ll also see a Brain Q, brought to you by AARP’s Staying Sharp, which focuses on brain health (you can’t know too much about that!) and the Final Q, which includes an image that is revealed throughout the game with each correct answer. Everyone loves a good puzzle!

Early Final Q

You'll also be given the option to answer the Final Q early for extra game points, and AARP Rewards participants can redeem Rewards points for special PowerUps to use in the Brain Q and Final Q. Use the Speedster PowerUp and get 2x total points - up to 1,600 points for a correct answer!

Get the question right for extra game points:

·       400 extra points + 400 regular Final Q points after Round 2 = 800 points

o   Or get 1,600 total points if you use the Speedster PowerUp!

·       200 extra points + 400 regular Final Q points after Round 2 = 600 total points

o   Or get 1,200 total points if you use the Speedster PowerUp!

After you attempt the question, you'll continue with the game from your previous spot. If you answer the Early Final Q incorrectly, don't worry. You'll still have a chance to answer the Final Q at the end of the game for the regular value of 400 points.

Start with Box Highlighted in Gold

Want to get started? Click the box highlighted in gold to begin with Round 1, Question 1! Once you begin, the game will take you sequentially from left to right, without skipping around.

30 Seconds to Answer the Question

Once you see the multiple-choice answers, you have 30 seconds to answer a question. The countdown clock at the top of the header always lets you know how much time you have left!

PowerUps

PowerUps in Rounds 1-4

Once a question is displayed in Rounds 1-4, you’ll see your available PowerUps fully lit up. They include:

·         A 3X game points PowerUp for AARP Members - don’t forget to log in!

·       If you’re not logged in – or signed up – click the locked icon and you’ll be able to input your username and password. Once you arrive back at the game, remember to quickly select the PowerUp once more to activate it before the multiple choice answers appear and you can’t go back to the question.

Members only

·         A Two Tries PowerUp that provides a second chance to get it right

·         A SweetSpot PowerUp that gives you +200 points if you get the question right

Selecting a PowerUp in Rounds 1-4

You can only select your PowerUp on the question page. So decide after you’ve read the question if you’d like to activate to use on the current question. If the PowerUp is shaded out, it is not active/available to be used.

PowerUps Can be Used Only Once Per Game

Once you use a PowerUp, you won’t be able to use it again for the rest of the game, so be sure to choose when to use to maximize your score!

(Quick tip: the 2X points PowerUp is strongest during Round 4, where questions are worth 400 points each. Maximize your score by holding onto the PowerUp until the end, if you can!)

PowerUps for AARP Rewards Participants

During the Brain Q and Final Q, AARP Rewards participants will have the opportunity to redeem their AARP Rewards Points for exclusive, additional PowerUps. (These are separate from the PowerUps available in Rounds 1-4. ) They include:

·       A Two Tries PowerUp (Cost: 1,000 AARP Rewards points)

·       A SweetSpot PowerUp that gives you +200 points for getting the question right (Cost: 1,000 AARP Rewards points)

·       The Speedster PowerUp, which gives you 2X points for a correct answer if you can answer correctly in 10 less seconds off the clock (Cost: 1,500 AARP Rewards points)

Video Watch Bonus

AARP Members can watch a short, educational video to earn 300 extra game points. (There are no ads in these videos.) You can watch the Video Watch Bonus at either the end of Round 1 or Round 4.  There is a limit of one Video Watch Bonus per game.

Early Final Q

What is the Early Final Q?

The Early Final Q allows you to get extra game points by answering the Final Q way before the end of the game.

How does it work?

At the end of Round 2 and Round 3, you’ll be given the option to answer the Final Q. If you think you know the image behind the game board, you might be able to answer it correctly. Get the question right for extra game points!

Can I use PowerUps during the Early Final Q?

Yes. Just like the normal Final Q, AARP Rewards participants can redeem Rewards points for special PowerUps. Use the Speedster PowerUp and get 1.5x total points – up to 1,200 points for a correct answer!

How many extra game points do I get?

  • 400 extra points + 400 regular Final Q points after Round 2 = 800 total points

o   Or get 1,200 total points if you use the Speedster PowerUp!

  • 200 extra points + 400 regular Final Q points after Round 3 = 600 total points

o   Or get 900 total points if you use the Speedster PowerUp!

What happens if I get the Early Final Q right?

Congratulations! You’ll receive your extra points and you’ll be taken back to the game board screen, where you can continue the game.

What happens if I get the Early Final Q wrong?

Not a problem! There is no penalty for an incorrect answer. If you tried at the end of Round 2, you’ll get another chance to answer at the end of Round 3, and yet another chance at the end of the game.
