As identity theft and fraud continue to affect millions of Americans each year, a simple step, securely shredding sensitive documents, can make a big difference. At this year’s Senior LIFEstyle & Wellness Expo, AARP Oklahoma is making that step easy with a free drive‑thru shred event designed to help residents safeguard personal and financial information.
Free, shred event details:
July 28
9 a.m. to noon
Exchange Center at Expo Square, 4145 East 21st St., Tulsa
The event is open to the public at no cost.
Participants can remain in their vehicles while documents are securely shredded on-site. Accepted items include:
- Old tax returns
- Bank statements
- Medical bills
- Credit card offers
- Any paperwork containing personal or financial information
Limit of two boxes per vehicle. Service provided first come, first served until capacity is reached.
Attendees are also encouraged to visit the AARP booth inside the expo, where everyone receives a prize just for stopping by.
