From ETA to ETIAS, REAL ID to MPC, Clear Plus and TSA PreCheck, travelers are facing an alphabet soup of acronyms related to travel clearances for domestic and international travel in 2025.
Why is this important to you? For the third consecutive year, in 2024 the boomer generation (then ages 60-78) took the most trips of any age group, accounting for 39 percent of the market, according to a survey by Squaremouth, a travel insurance marketplace company. Gen X travelers (then ages 44-59) came in second, composing 22 percent of the travel market. This trend is expected to continue, with boomers and Gen Xers the age groups planning the most international leisure trips over the next two years, according to a study by MMGY, a travel marketing group.
