As American travelers seek warm-weather getaways full of balmy breezes and sandy beaches, it’s no surprise the Caribbean and Mexico are popular destinations.

Safety is key to a great trip. Stay up to date on travel advisories issued by the U.S. Department of State. In recent months, the agency advised U.S. citizens to not travel or to reconsider travel to some Caribbean countries and Mexican states.

For travelers looking for a kid-free vacation, here are six new adults-only resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. Prices vary depending on the season, but expect a nightly per-person, all-inclusive rate ranging from about $285 at the Verandah Antigua to more than $600 at the Grand Velas Boutique Hotel Los Cabos in Mexico.

1. Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Resort

Opening March 27, the Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines resort is the latest property from the adults-only, all-inclusive Sandals brand — the 18th in its all-Caribbean portfolio. It’s also a coup for the little-known island of St. Vincent. Tucked into a cove flanked by mountains, rainforest and white-sand beach, the 50-acre resort features 301 rooms, suites (Sandals’ largest yet) and villas, including Sandals’ first-ever two-story overwater villas. A whopping 16 eateries and bars — including the brand’s first communal-style restaurant, Buccan — will source local produce and fish. When you’re ready to tear yourself away from those oh-so-romantic accommodations, five pools, various water toys, tennis, complimentary scuba diving and a state-of-the-art fitness center beckon.

2. Royalton CHIC Antigua

Looking for a high-energy vibe? Head to the Royalton CHIC Antigua after it opens in April. The all-inclusive beachfront resort has 235 sleek rooms and suites with signature beds and rain showers, plus five bars, seven restaurants (including dinner served on the sand) and a spa. Enjoy what the resort calls “diningtainment” at the island’s only overwater restaurant, Pescari. Or get in the groove with pop-up parties, themed events and poolside DJ sessions.

3. The Verandah Antigua

Antigua welcomed another adult-centric, all-inclusive resort in November 2023. Located on a palm-fringed cove, the 30-acre beachfront The Verandah Antigua is actually a redo of a previous property transformed for adults exclusively. Its 180 waterfront, water-view and hillside suites and two-bedroom villas (some with private plunge pools) are spacious for couples, friends or groups. Six reimagined restaurants vie with the culinary options of sister properties, the Pineapple Beach Club and St. James’s Club & Villas, as part of the dine-around privileges. More changes include a revamped spa with new amenities and services, a renovated 18-hole mini golf course and four new pickleball and tennis courts. Four pools and two white-sand beaches keep water lovers happy.

4. Iberostar Grand Aruba

Aruba’s Eagle Beach, the island’s widest beach, will welcome its newest resort, the Iberostar Grand Aruba, in October. In addition to the beach, guests can golf at Aruba’s only 18-hole course at Tierra del Sol, play tennis, gamble in the casino, be pampered in the spa, enjoy three restaurants or five bars and swim in multiple pools. Not surprisingly, the hotel’s 240 suites — each with concierge service and balcony Jacuzzis — all face the ocean from a U-shaped multistory building.

5. Grand Velas Boutique Hotel Los Cabos, Mexico

Who can resist a sigh-worthy infinity pool that seamlessly merges with the sea? Mexico’s newest adults-only resort, the Grand Velas Boutique Hotel Los Cabos, debuted in January. Perched on the Sea of Cortez in the tony vacation hot spot of southern Baja California Sur, this luxury all-inclusive retreat offers 79 suites with private Jacuzzis or plunge pools, and 24-hour personal concierge service. Expect a private beach, two restaurants (plus inclusive access to sister property Grand Velas Los Cabos’ five gourmet dinner restaurants), a full-service spa and wellness center (with treatments inspired by Mexican culture), tequila tastings and traditional Mexican-accented architecture.

6. Almare, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, Isla Mujeres, Mexico

The Almare resort opens in August on the tiny island of Isla Mujeres off the coast of Cancun. This Caribbean boutique-style retreat will feature a beach club, two pools, a spa and fitness center, and 105 modern rooms, all with balconies. To showcase the destination, the contemporary architecture incorporates vernacular touches and locally inspired interior design. In another nod to Almare’s location, local ingredients and indigenous Mexican cooking methods will take center stage at its gourmet restaurant, BOGA — one of five dining venues.
