AARP Virginia State President Joyce Williams and State Director Jim Dau joined hundreds of AARP volunteers and staff from across the country on Capitol Hill to deliver a message on behalf of older Virginians: Protect what matters most to them – the money they have earned, their families and their financial security.
On April 15, Williams and Dau met with members of Virginia’s congressional delegation and other lawmakers to urge action on the association’s top 2026 legislative priorities. These priorities include protecting Social Security, strengthening support for the nation’s 63 million family caregivers and advancing stronger protections to prevent fraud and financial exploitation that disproportionately affect older adults.
AARP represents 125 million Americans age 50-plus, including 3 million in Virginia, and continues to advocate for policies that help older Americans live with dignity, security, and financial confidence.
