This tax season, AARP Utah’s Tax-Aide volunteers once again demonstrated the power of service and community. With a dedicated team of 148 volunteers across the state, each committing at least 40 hours, they contributed an estimated 5,920 hours of service to help Utahns confidently navigate their taxes.

Their impact is clear. Volunteers assisted 7,013 clients this season—a 12.3% increase from 2025—highlighting a growing need for accessible, trusted support. The program continues to serve those who need it most, with 79% of clients over the age of 60 and an average adjusted gross income of $50,010.

Beyond guidance and peace of mind, the financial benefit is significant. Through their efforts, volunteers helped return an impressive $8.2 million in refunds to individuals and families across Utah.

“Our amazing volunteers did great work this tax season,” said Linda Oram, Tax-Aide State Coordinator. “I’m very proud of how many people they have helped. Each year we see an increase in need from the public, and I’m proud our volunteers can provide this amazing service at no charge.”

Through their time, expertise, and compassion, AARP Utah Tax-Aide volunteers continue to strengthen communities—one return at a time.
