Walk through Houston’s historic Second Ward and discover how murals, public spaces and neighborhood landmarks reflect the culture and creativity of the East End.
Led by Urban Paths, this free wellness walk combines movement, conversation and stories about the Hispanic artists who have contributed to Houston’s cultural landscape. Everyone is welcome, regardless of walking pace.

Astros Hispanic Heritage Street Festival

In Houston, baseball is part of the culture—and Hispanic Heritage Weekend brings even more ritmo and community pride to the ballpark.
Join the celebration before the Astros take on the Atlanta Braves. The street festival will feature live Latin music and performers, food trucks, cultural experiences, games and activities for fans of all ages. A ticket to the September 19 Astros game is required to enter the street festival.

Urban Paths: Hispanic Art and Culture Walk at Moody Park

Experience Near Northside through movement, art and conversation. This free community walk will explore the contributions of Hispanic artists and the neighborhood stories that continue to shape Houston. Your memories are part of Houston’s history.
Did you attend Robert E. Lee Elementary, now the Leonel J. Castillo Community Center? Did you grow up in Northside, raise a family there or carry stories about the neighborhood? Join this community history harvest and oral-history collection day to help preserve the experiences of Northside, a historic Tejano barrio shaped by generations of families and cultures. Former students, residents and families are invited to share their memories so their voices can become part of the community’s lasting record. Free breakfast tacos, pan dulce and cafecito will be available for attendees and storytellers.

Houston’s Hispanic community carries traditions from across Latin America—and food offers one of the most meaningful ways to share them.
During this hands-on class, learn about the South American origins of the arepa, prepare the dough, select ingredients from the farm and create delicious fillings. Chef Sandra Nath, owner of Gusto Gourmet, will guide participants through the experience. Come ready to cook, learn and enjoy an almuerzo together. Registration is required.
