Every January and February, we take special time to remember and celebrate amazing people and powerful stories. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, AARP encourages everyone to help their neighbors and make their communities better places to live and thrive. During Black History Month, AARP shines a light on the strength, courage, and achievements of the countless Black leaders, volunteers, and neighbors who have strengthened their communities for generations.
This is a time to reflect on the progress made, the power of unity, and how we can keep building on the dream of communities where everyone can thrive. At AARP, we believe that empowerment doesn’t stop at a particular age. For adults 50 and over, thriving means having access to resources, opportunities, and community connections that make life richer and more fulfilling. Through fun events, powerful stories, and community projects, AARP helps people of all ages learn, connect, and celebrate together, right here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Building a dream can always use some help, so we’re introducing our “Building the Dream” Sweepstakes! It’s a simple way to celebrate this season of legacy and possibility. Enter for your chance to win a $500 gift card. One lucky winner will get a little boost to help them build their dream, whether that means starting a new hobby, planning a special outing, or giving back to their community.
Let’s celebrate the spirit of Dr. King’s dream together. Explore AARP’s resources, join virtual and local events, and take a moment to enter the sweepstakes. After all, building the dream starts with you.
