Serve as a Community Ambassador to support AARP events like Movies for Grownups, Lunch & Learns, Tap Talks and Walk with a Doc. Welcome guests, share information and help create positive, engaging experiences that highlight issues that matter as we age.
Serve as a Community Ambassador at local member and community events in the Rochester area. Welcome attendees, share information and help create engaging experiences focused on issues that matter as we age.
Volunteer with the Community Pop Up Team to represent AARP at fairs, festivals and educational events. Offer quick, engaging ways for people to learn about topics like fraud prevention, caregiving, Social Security and Medicare.
Volunteer with AARP Driver Safety to help older drivers stay safe and confident on the road. Roles may include course instructors, volunteer leaders, marketing and recruitment specialists, data managers and tech advisors.
Volunteer with AARP Foundation Experience Corps to support K–3 students with reading through an intergenerational tutoring program. In Minnesota, the program is hosted by the East Side Learning Center in St. Paul, where volunteers serve as literacy tutors or virtual observers as part of a structured, evidence based program during the school year.
Volunteer with AARP Fraud Watch Network to help people stay informed about scams and fraud. Share trusted information, raise awareness about common warning signs and connect people with resources for guidance and support if they’ve been targeted.
Help educate community members and decision makers about issues that affect us all as we age. Share AARP priorities and encourage civic engagement at the local and state level.
Volunteer with the Information Center Team to provide resources, referrals and information to people in person and over the phone at the AARP Information Center, located at the Mall of America.
Share information and resources on issues that matter to people 50 and older. Give presentations, provide technical support and assist with community outreach.
Volunteer with AARP Foundation Tax Aide to support free tax filing help for those who need it most. Tax Aide sites are coordinated throughout Minnesota, with a variety of volunteer roles available.
Volunteer with Wish of a Lifetime from AARP to help bring joy, connection and purpose to older adults through inspirational experiences. Opportunities include supporting wish experiences, helping with community activities and sharing stories that celebrate aging.
Meet the AARP Minnesota Executive Council
The AARP Minnesota Executive Council is a team of volunteer leaders with a variety of skill sets, experiences, and backgrounds. The Executive Council helps shape the strategic direction and execute the mission of AARP Minnesota – ensuring that AARP remains a relevant resource and influential voice for people 50+ in our state and across our communities.
