AARP Idaho Seeks Dynamic Volunteer Leaders for Executive Council
Are you passionate about making a difference for older adults in Idaho? Do you have a knack for leadership, community engagement, and strategic thinking? AARP Idaho is actively seeking new members to join its Executive Council—a team of volunteer leaders who help shape the direction and impact of AARP’s work across the state.
What is the Executive Council?
The AARP Idaho Executive Council is a group of dedicated volunteers who partner with the State Director, State President, and staff to advance AARP’s mission. Council members serve as thought partners, community ambassadors, and hands-on leaders. This is not just an advisory role—Executive Council members lead initiatives, engage volunteers, and represent AARP in communities statewide.
Why Join?
As an Executive Council member, you’ll:
- Provide strategic insight and leadership on key issues and statewide initiatives
- Mentor and support volunteers, strengthening AARP’s network and capacity
- Represent AARP Idaho in public forums, community partnerships, and media opportunities
- Lead or support events, advocacy efforts, and outreach campaigns
- Help expand AARP’s reach and impact for Idaho’s older adults
Who Should Apply?
- AARP Idaho is looking for individuals who:
- Are committed to AARP’s mission and priorities
- Have demonstrated leadership experience and strong communication skills
- Can work collaboratively with diverse populations and represent Idaho’s geographic and demographic diversity
- Are eligible for AARP membership or associate membership
What’s Involved?
Council members serve two-year terms (renewable up to six years) and typically dedicate 8–12 hours per month. Engagement includes up to six meetings per year (in-person or virtual), monthly volunteer network meetings, and occasional in-state travel (expenses covered). Training and ongoing support are provided. View the full Executive Council description.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit a resume to Karianne Fallow, State Director, AARP Idaho at kfallow@aarp.org or call 208/280-2444 for more information.
