This AARP survey of adults age 50+ looked at public views about Medicare and Social Security, possible changes to the programs that could occur in a post-election session and the role voters would like to play in a debate about the future of these programs. More specifically, it sought to determine whether 50+ adults feel changes to the programs should be part of a year-end budget agreement and probed their level of confidence that they will have the information they need to understand what changes to the programs mean for them and their families.
