Staying Fit
Registered voters in Maryland support consumer protections for both landline and cellular service.
Key findings include:
- Marylanders overwhelmingly (81%) say it is important that the legislature work to maintain affordable, reliable, and high-quality traditional telephone service.
- Seventy-six percent (76%) of Marylanders say they support a law requiring cell phone providers to give new customers a list of fixed charges, as well as an estimate of their total monthly bill.
- Nearly sixty-three percent (63%) of voters overall support government oversights of traditional landline telephone rates and services.
The 2017 Maryland Survey of Voters Age 45-Plus: Telephone and Cellular Service was a telephone study among 800 residents about issues regarding electric utility rates and suppliers.
