About Mirror/Mirror: AARP Survey of Women’s Reflections on Beauty, Age and Media™
Mirror/Mirror is a series of surveys launched in 2018 by AARP exploring women's perspectives on aging, beauty and media representation. Over the years, this series has produced six comprehensive studies, focusing on the intersection of age and gender, that seek to understand women's experiences and self-perceptions as they age within the broader societal and cultural context. The research examines the impact of societal expectations and highlights women’s call for age-inclusive representation.

Older Adults Have a Better Grasp on Beauty Than Advertisers (2024)
This retrospective of previous Mirror/Mirror studies reports that the understanding of beauty expands and gains depth with age. While the beauty industry has made progress in its depictions of women, continued evolution is necessary.
