ABOUT

Andrea Callow, JD, is a policy advisor at AARP Public Policy Institute, where she works on initiatives to strengthen the Medicaid program and improve access to care for low-income older adults.

Before joining AARP, Callow was a senior policy advisor at the Administration for Community Living, US Department of Health and Human Services, where she advanced policies and programs to support older adults and individuals with disabilities. She led the agency's HIV and aging portfolio and helped develop and implement federal regulations related to elder rights. Callow has also held positions at several national health care advocacy organizations, including Families USA and the Center for Medicare Advocacy. She began her career as a caseworker for low-income Medicare beneficiaries in New York City.

She is licensed to practice law in Washington D.C.. Callow holds a Juris Doctor from Loyola University of Chicago and a bachelor's from the University of Toronto.
