AARP Continuing Education Courses

AARP has launched two new Continuing Education (CE) courses created for nursing professionals and accredited by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

Fraud: Impact on Patients and Strategies for Nurses Serving as Information Agents in the Community

Learn how you can recognize, prevent and address fraud. In this course, you’ll discover key insights on identifying fraud, who’s most at risk, communication strategies, and tools to keep patients safe.

This online course helps nurses understand the challenges of caregiving and offers strategies for support and effective communication to better serve patients and their families.

FAQs

 

What kind of credit do learners receive? 

This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity has been approved for One Contact Hour (or One CE). 
 

What do I need to do to receive credit? 

Learners must complete this 60-minute course in its entirety including the pre- and post-evaluations (in the course) to receive one contact hour. Prior to starting the course, learners who do not have a free AARP account must create one. Once the course is completed, you will be directed to click the return button in the upper right corner of the course to return to LMS course page and download your certificate.
 

How do I retrieve another copy of my certificate at a later date?

If learners need to return to retrieve another copy of their certificate, they should log into their AARP account and navigate to the course page. From the course page, you can select the Download Certificate button to generate a new certificate.
