Yoga Warrior: Veteran Copes with PTSD

Jeff Sargent spent two decades in the U.S. Army fighting on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. After retirement, Jeff suffered from PTSD. A friend mentioned doing yoga as a form of treatment and Jeff replied "real men don't do yoga." He realizes now how short minded he was. Jeff started doing yoga and the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits have been endless. He’s been able to block out the fiery explosions and gunfire from the battlefield and mentally focus on the present. He says Yoga saved his life and was so moved by the practice that he is now finishing up his Masters degree in Yoga Therapy with the hopes to break the stigma and to help other soldiers suffering from PTSD.
