Be Part of the Solution

Today, more than 10 million people over 50 are living in poverty in the U.S. All told, more than 37 million are either already in poverty or just one life event away from slipping into it. You can help.

AARP Foundation and Charles Schwab Foundation developed Finances 50+ to be a turn-key program for nonprofit organizations, associations and groups who are interested in providing basic money management training to older adults.

There are two AARP Foundation Finances 50+ ‘Guides’ available for download:

Participant Guide

Are you an individual who is interested in taking better control of your financial future? The Participant Guide provides exercises, worksheets and resources to help individuals set and meet their financial goals and is available in English, Spanish and Chinese.

Download: Available in English | Disponible En Español (large PDF) | 中文版 (Available in Chinese)

Volunteer Guide

Are you someone who would like to bring better money habits to your community? The Volunteer Guide accompanies the Participant Guide and provides background information, volunteer tips, answers to exercises and additional guidance to help volunteers facilitate class sessions. AARP Foundation hosts a training webinar for new volunteers to learn how to facilitate this workshop. Email finances50plus@aarp.org for additional information.
