Travel can get expensive fast, so finding discounts to save money is more important than ever. Fortunately, there are some excellent deals to be found on everything from flights and rental cars to luggage.
One website the military community should check for travel discounts is American Forces Travel. Backed by all six military branches and the Pentagon, it offers significant discounts on travel and vacation packages and is powered by Priceline.
Other savings can be found directly from airlines, rental car companies and other travel providers. Many partner with WeSalute+ (formerly Veterans Advantage), a membership program that offers different plan lengths and often pays for itself in savings. It also includes free travel protection for you and up to four family members.
Read on for a wide range of travel deals from airlines, rental car agencies, bus and train lines, RV rental outfits, and travel gear retailers. Hotels deals are so abundant, they need their own list. Note, that this is not a complete roundup, so be sure to check with your favorite travel providers to see if a veteran discount is offered.
