Care for Caregivers Series in Cheyenne is Set for Fall 2026

CHEYENNE -  AARP’s Care for Caregivers series is back for 2026, as this popular series runs Mondays from mid-September through October 12. This is the fifth time the series has been offered in Cheyenne after it was developed by AARP Wyoming’s Sheridan Community Action Team. The series' founders and directors understand the need for caregivers to take time for themselves to be at their best for their loved ones, while learning about the challenges of caregiving.

Each week’s session starts at 5:30 p.m. with a free dinner to help caregivers unwind and meet others in similar situations. The presentations will get underway at 6 p.m. and end by 7:30 p.m. Registration is not required, but strongly encouraged to help organizers get a good headcount as they order dinner. All events will be held at the Laramie County Public Library - 2200 Pioneer Avenue, Cheyenne, WY. All dinners will be held at 5:30 p.m., and workshops start at 6 p.m. and run until 7:30.

Sept. 14 - Exploring the caregiver role

Sept. 21 - Financial Preparation for the realities of caregiving

Sept. 28 - Cognitive and behavioral changes of a loved one

Oct. 5 - Hands-only CPR and first aid basics.

Oct. 12 - Learning to navigate the Medicare system.

“We encourage you to take time just for you,” said the series director Emilie Quinlivan. “Each week explores a different topic tailored to the unique challenges caregivers face, offering practical tips you can use right away.”
