Most recently, Aguirre worked with the Alzheimer's Association- Dallas & Northeast Texas Chapter, leading community outreach efforts and partnering with volunteers, caregivers and community organizations. Through that work, she became familiar with AARP's impact as a trusted resource and advocate for older adults and their families.
"I'm aging too, and I really love AARP's mission," said Aguirre. "I strongly believe people should be able to live with dignity and purpose while continuing to fulfill their goals and dreams."
"We're excited about the leadership, energy and community insight she will bring to AARP Texas and to our work in Dallas-Fort Worth," said Zulema Solis, director of community strategy for AARP Texas.
In her new role, Aguirre hopes to help more North Texans connect with AARP programs, resources and advocacy opportunities while encouraging people to view aging as a time to continue pursuing goals, dreams and community engagement.
