AARP Oklahoma secured 17 key advocacy wins at the state Capitol this year, defeating harmful legislation and advancing the issues that matter most to Oklahomans aged 50-plus. From strengthening support for family caregivers and cracking down on fraud to expanding consumer protections and increasing transparency in insurance and utilities, these victories reflect our commitment to fighting for older Oklahomans.

“This legislative session, AARP Oklahoma delivered real results for Oklahomans by protecting their hard-earned money, supporting the needs of family caregivers and their loved ones, and preventing sudden spikes in everyday bills,” said AARP Oklahoma State Director Sean Voskuhl.

The result is commonsense, consumer-focused wins that help Oklahomans. “These victories are the result of dedicated work alongside lawmakers, engagement from our volunteers and advocates, and elevating the voices of Oklahomans,” said Associate State Director of Advocacy Joy McGill.

Fraud, Abuse and Consumer Protections

Helps detect and stop financial exploitation earlier

Expands the Caring for Caregivers Tax Credit
