Looking for a fun way to stay active, meet new people, and learn America’s fastest-growing sport? AARP Long Island is serving up an exciting opportunity with FREE monthly pickleball clinics in partnership with Pickleball Prime LI in Mineola.
Whether you’re brand new to the game or looking to sharpen your skills, these clinics are designed for all experience levels and offer a welcoming environment to learn, play, and connect.
According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) 2025 Topline Participation Report, nearly 19.8 million Americans played pickleball in 2024, with participation continuing to grow in 2025. Now’s the perfect time to grab a paddle and see what all the excitement is about.

Participants will also have the opportunity to stop by the AARP table before or after each clinic to meet AARP volunteers, staff, and members and learn more about programs and resources available in the local community.

What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. Learn more at:
Can I bring guests?
Yes. Guests are welcome, but every participant must register in advance and complete a General Liability Waiver administered by the host organization.
What if I’ve never played before?
No problem. These clinics are designed for beginners through intermediate players.
What should I wear or bring?
Participants are encouraged to wear breathable athletic clothing and court shoes. Bringing a paddle and water bottle is recommended. NOTE: Dress for indoor play, this is an indoor facility. All clinics are indoors, not outdoors.
Do I need my own paddle?
No. Paddles will be available to borrow for participants who do not have their own equipment.
Does it cost anything?
No. These clinics are completely free to attend.
