AARP Delaware volunteers had a front-row seat to advocacy in action on August 26, 2026, when Governor Matt Meyer visited the AARP Delaware office to sign a package of energy bills designed to help keep utility costs down for Delawareans. Joined by four state legislators, a cabinet secretary, and community partners, the Governor highlighted the importance of these new laws and the work that helped move them across the finish line. Volunteers had the opportunity to meet elected officials and hear directly from leaders involved in the effort. Most importantly, the event gave our volunteers a chance to see the final step of the advocacy process and celebrate the impact of their work. It was a great reminder that volunteer voices make a difference in advancing policies that benefit Delawareans age 50-plus and their families.
